We received many well-researched and thoughtful entries from high school, college, and graduate students from throughout the country.The attorneys of\u00a0McKinney, Tucker & Lemel, LLC, had asked students to provide an essay of 600 words or less or a video of two minutes or less in which they responded to the following question:\u201cHave you or someone you know been affected by drunk driving? In what ways has it made or would it make you a safer driver?\u201dWe appreciate every entry that we received, and we would love to award a scholarship to every applicant. However, we had to choose only two winners. The funds they receive will go towards the costs of pursuing higher education.We thank every student who submitted an essay or video and wish everyone the best as they move forward.1st Place: Erica GrierOriginally from New Braunfels, Texas. Erica loves spending time outside with her daughter and going on adventures with her. She is studying to be a Special Education Teacher. Her current goal is to become a Severe\/ Moderate Autism Special Education Teacher. She fell in love with art from a really young age and decided there was nothing else she wanted to do more.
