I just always thought I could talk to people in that kind of situation.\u201dAfter graduating from the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Ed attended Furman University, graduating cum laude in 2014 with a double major in political science and history with a minor in film studies.He then enrolled at the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he consistently made the Dean\u2019s List and was a member of the ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Journal, serving as articles editor during his third year in law school. He received the CALI Award in Advanced Family Law, worked as a law clerk in the Columbia firm of Moore Taylor, P.A., and interned in the Richland County Department of Social Services.After receiving his J.D. with a Children\u2019s Law Concentration in 2017, he joined\u00a0McKinney, Tucker & Lemel\u00a0to practice mostly family law, precisely the kind of position he wanted. Most of his work is focused on assisting clients who are dealing with\u00a0divorces, separations, and child-custody issues, along with some\u00a0personal-injury cases.\u201cMany of my clients are going through a low period in their lives and I feel that I\u2019m in a position to objectively look at their situation and help to guide them through it,\u201d Ed says. \u201cSome of them don\u2019t have any support system at all, so I feel like I\u2019m providing a foundation for them to ensure that everything is going to be OK, that they\u2019re going to get through it and can move on into the next chapter of their lives.\u201dEd is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and is active in the organization\u2019s Young Lawyers Division. He is also active in his church, St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill.
