Why do clients throughout Rock Hill, Fort Hill, Indian Land, and Tega Cay trust George E. “Ed” Anderson V as their attorney? Because he never forgets that behind every personal injury and family law case is someone who truly needs help. They are a spouse, sibling, child, loved one, or family member. They are going through a difficult time in their life and need a professional, compassionate advocate to navigate them through it.

Ed developed this mindset from an early age. As a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, his parents and grandfather instilled in him the importance of treating everyone as if they were part of his own family. To this day, Ed adamantly believes that this fundamental value should be practiced in every facet of life, not just in the legal profession. Since 2017, he has been with McKinney, Tucker & Lemel, representing and advising clients on family law issues that affect their lives for years to come.

As a lawyer with nearly 10 years of experience, Ed knows that facing any legal problem can be stressful, emotional, and deeply personal — none more so than divorce, separation, child custody, and serious injury matters. These require a keen eye and a sharp mind to spot potential issues and conflicts, the ability to communicate effectively, and the tenacity to work toward practical solutions.

Ed attended The McCallie School for high school and was accepted to Furman University in Greenville. There, he graduated cum laude with a double major in Political Science and History and a minor in Film Studies. Ed was also an active member of the Student Alumni Council and President of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

At the University of South Carolina School of Law, Ed earned his J.D. with a concentration in Children’s Law. He also served as a member of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal and an Articles Editor during his third year of law school. His hard work paid off:  Ed consistently made the Dean’s List, earned a CALI award in Advanced Family Law, worked as a law clerk at the law firm of Moore Taylor, P.A. in Columbia, and interned at the Richland County Department of Social Services.

Outside of practicing law, Ed is a dedicated member of the South Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, and Young Lawyers Division. Time spent with his wife and children is of the utmost importance to him. He also enjoys golf and cheering for the Gamecocks, and he is a devoted parishioner at the St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill.
