Attorney Jessica Tucker

Attorney Serving Clients in Rock Hill and Throughout York and Lancaster Counties

Jessica Tucker is an attorney at McKinney, Tucker & Lemel, LLC, who focuses on helping people and families through challenging and often stressful legal issues. She brings a thoughtful, steady approach to every case and takes the time to understand what each client is facing before helping them move forward.

Guiding Clients Through Difficult Times

Jessica works with clients who need clear guidance, honest answers, and strong support as they navigate some of the most difficult periods in their lives. Her work is rooted in the same client-focused values that guide our firm every day: open communication, careful preparation, compassion, and practical advice.

Jessica understands that a legal problem is rarely just a legal problem. It can affect a client’s family, work, finances, health, and peace of mind. She strives to make the process easier to understand, helps clients explore their legal options, and lends vital support as they make important decisions for their lives.

A York County Upbringing and Strong Academic Foundation

Jessica grew up in York County in a family that helped to shape her view of the world and inspired the way she serves her clients today. Her mother, an English teacher, showed her the importance of family and clear communication. Her father, an attorney, taught her that hard work matters, especially when the work is difficult, and that there is always room to keep improving.

Jessica first attended the University of Alabama, where she joined Delta Gamma and received the Golden Lamp Award for academic excellence. She later transferred to Clemson University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. She still has a place in her heart for both schools. As she likes to say, she won’t pick a side.

Early Experience Helping People in Challenging Situations

Jessica went on to earn her law degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. During law school, she built a strong foundation in both writing and advocacy. She served as an articles editor for the ABA’s Public Contract Law Journal, where her work was published in Spring 2020.

She also gained hands-on legal experience in several meaningful roles. Jessica worked at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office in the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Division. Later, she worked at a boutique law firm in Washington, D.C., focusing on contract law, and joined the legal team for Break the Cycle, where she helped young domestic violence and sexual assault victims navigate the legal system.

Jessica graduated from law school in 2020 with a double-concentrated degree in Family Law and Public Contract Law. She also received the Pro Bono Service Award.

Today, she is licensed to practice law in all of South Carolina’s state courts.

Bringing Compassion, Preparation, and Local Connections to Every Case

With her background, Jessica has a strong foundation for serving clients with care and attention to detail. She takes the time to listen closely and understand the real-life stress our clients face. At the same time, she draws on her practical insight into sensitive and often high-stakes legal matters.

McKinney, Tucker & Lemel, LLC, has always been a second family for Jessica. Her father has been with the firm since before she was born, and she spent many “sick days” in the office with him as a child.

“I could always count on Ms. Beth and Ms. Sadie to bring me treats and make me smile,” Jessica says. “Today, I can still count on them.”

Jessica’s connection to our firm and the local community matters. McKinney, Tucker & Lemel, LLC, has served York and Lancaster Counties since 1977. We take pride in being experienced, focused, responsive, straightforward, cost-effective, and compassionate. Jessica reflects those values in the way she works with clients.

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything that you did for my family. It meant the world to me that you were by my side through it all, and I can’t express enough how much I appreciate that,” as a former client says of working with our legal team.

Life Beyond the Law

Jessica lives in Charlotte, N.C., with her husband, Dylan, their two children, and their dogs, Molly and Charlie. Outside the office, she enjoys reading, playing with her children, and trying new restaurants with her husband.
