Rock Hill is a lovely city that runs along the Catawba River and is not far from Charlotte, NC. The area has been inhabited for many years, first by various indigenous tribes, most recently the Catawba Indian Nation. It has existed as a town since about 1852 (though not officially incorporated until years later).
Rock Hill played a role in the Civil War, Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Era, and the city grew a lot during each era. Today, the population of Rock Hill sits at nearly 100,000.
